Match report IN one of the few fixtures to make it Wanstead had to be content with a share of the spoils.

With the game not effectively starting until 3pm overs were limited to 42-35 with the hosts getting the greater share after being invited to open by Herons skipper Arfan Akram.

The hosts set 194-6, with Roy Smith making a fine 61 and Ian Russell 60.

The early batsman looked uncomfortable against Maurice Chambers, although it wasn't until his tenth over that he really reaped any kind of reward.

A hat-trick including the two leading run-scorers, added to an earlier wicket saw him finish with fine figures of 4-66. Mo Fayyaz was immaculate as he took 2-39 from 14 overs. Wanstead's reply set off at great speed after the early loss of captain Arfan Akram for no score.

Milan Patel led the charge with Amar Patel, until the latter was run out on 15.

Raihan Ahmed followed but Otis Binnie played the difficult conditions well.

The match continued until 20 overs were completed with Patel just out for 58 and Binnie on 42 not out as Wanstead picked up nine points.
