Wanstead and Snaresbrook Cricket Club Lost

Match report The Magnificent 7's were out again today, but did not live up to their protoges. The star of the batting was Naail Dar with a majestic 36 not out. Without this innings the 7's looked poor. The score of 91 was about 40 runs short of a total that gave the bowlers a reasonable target to protect. Give Writtle their dues, they had a youngster (S Adams) that is a spinner to watch out for in the future. Anyway, he was taking wickets and making the ball turn at right angles...really excellent spell of bowling. So Wanstead 7XI, 91 all out, an early tea, 14 overs early.

So after another excellent Fairlop tea, Wanstead 7XI take to the field.If anyone is familiar with the Wanstead players will notice that the bowling lineup is quite a formidible bowling lineup. so the captain sets an aggresive filed and give the ball to Khan and lets go for the win. The bowlers really fought hard and the score looked llike it was going to be hard to get. at the 17th over Writtle had only got to 38 and the bowlers where defending the total. The fielders where doing their bit, really getting the ball so much so that the pressure was building. Wickets from Simran, Naail and Khan kept the team going and looking for the win. A few slogs for the Writtle middle order brought them
confidence and eventually to the total. All the seven bowlers played their role well today and the bowling figures shows that.
Next week is another outing for the 7's so watch this space for more news of the Magnificent 7's
